Teesri Dhun - The Third Tune is a Documentary Theatre on Transgender Life and Struggles in Pakistan. It will be performed at Alhamra Arts Center on 16 - 17 December 2016. It is being staged by Olomopolo Media, which has established itself as a Cultural and Social Production Hub, pivoted around the organization, design and execution of Performing Arts and Visual Media.
Teesri Dhun is a dramatic enactment of transgender lives, with powerful performances, integrating music, dance and storytelling. It unfolds narratives of history, separation, love, desire, celebration and loss as our characters struggle to find a third space in a polarized gendered society. Working with the Khawaja-sara community, the theatre piece is based on their performance practices, and highlights their history, criminalization and contemporary struggles.
