Children's Literature Festival 2018 Lahore will take place from 12th to 14th January 2018 in Lahore. Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) and CLF are jointly hosting the first CLF to be conducted within the culturally rich area of the Walled City of Lahore. Theme of the child-centered festival is Celebrating Peace, Heritage and 70 Years of Pakistan: Opening the gates of the Walled City, Lahore. By situating the festival in the Walled City, the CLF aims to discover and encourage young talent from the area and beyond.
CLF 2018 Lahore Program:Children’s Literature Festival (CLF) is an endeavor of Children's Library Complex, Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi (ITA) and the Oxford University Press (OUP) in collaboration with Foundation Open Society Institute (FOSI) Pakistan, for the children of Lahore and, subsequently, for those of other cities of Pakistan. CLF is the first literature festival for the children of Pakistan held at the national level. It aims to promote reading, creativity, and critical thinking among children. CLF is a multi-day festival which gives an opportunity for children to listen to their favorite book being read and discussed, attend classes on creative writing, learn about bookmaking, writing book reviews, attend puppet shows, children’s theatre, and participate in many other fascinating activities related to reading.
CLF has established itself as an Equalizer in providing children and teachers from ALL schooling systems with a platform to explore imagination beyond textbooks. Till date, 43 Children's Literature Festivals have been held across the country, reaching over 1 million children and teachers across Pakistan including remote geographies. CLF hopes to build interest in reading and critical thinking in an interactive and fun environment. Local and international celebrities, authors, publishers and several vibrant personalities relevant to the occasion attend it. CLF’s best feature is the children’s book fair where the authors are invited to sign their books.
