Ali Azmat is a singer, songwriter, musician and actor from Pakistan. He is best known for being the lead singer for the influential Sufi rock band Junoon. His subsequent solo career also earned success. He became the first musician ever to perform at the United Nations General Assembly in 2001 along with an Indian band. He opted to sing his song "Dosti", an appropriately selected title to promote the UN's mission in bringing peace to the world.
